The Provincial Grand Lodge of Gloucestershire is one of forty seven Provincial Grand Lodges in England and Wales and covers a geographical area based on the pre-1974 County boundaries reaching as far south as Avonmouth, Downend and Stapleton in Bristol and Chipping Campden in the north. The Province has an office at Wotton-under-Edge run by volunteer Masons on a part-time basis.
The Provincial Grand Master (PGM) is Right Worshipful Brother D H T (Tim) Henderson-Ross who was appointed by the Most Worshipful the Grand Master His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent KG on 24th May 2014 with a patent for ten years. The Provincial Grand Master in turn appoints a Deputy Provincial Grand Master and two Assistant Provincial Grand Masters. The Deputy and Assistant Provincial Grand Masters are appointed annually.
The Provincial Grand Master also appoints forty other Provincial Grand Lodge Officers each year with specific duties according to the post they hold. Sixteen of these officers are expected to hold office for a period of up to 5 years to provide continuity in the administration of the Province which has eighty two Lodges.
The Provincial Grand Lodge meets annually in May for its formal business meeting and the appointment and investiture of new Provincial Grand Lodge officers for the ensuing year
